Joanne Rinker is a Master’s level dietitian and has been a registered dietitian and certified diabetes care and education specialist for over 20 years. In 2022, she passed her Board Certification as an Advanced Diabetes Manager.  Rinker worked on the implementation and facilitation of the North Carolina Diabetes Education Recognition Program. As the program coordinator, Joanne was instrumental in building the largest American Diabetes Association (ADA) recognized site in the nation.

In 2012, named the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) 2013 Diabetes Educator of the Year and used that opportunity to spread the word about the relationship between diabetes, hearing loss and depression.

Rinker served on the ADCES Board of Directors 2015-2017; ADCES Spokesperson in January of 2016. In 2017, Joanne left the ADCES Board to accept the position of Senior Director of Practice, Content and Learning at ADCES.

Since 2021, Joanne has contributed to the medical team at MannKind and currently is the Director of Medical and Scientific Engagement. Her role includes overseeing CME events and opportunities, building relationships with external partners, serving as the liaison for the field team and the medical education team and building a medical education strategy.
